How Tournaments Work

Qualifiers

Each store will have a qualifier.  The price to participate is $25 a person.  The top 2 places from each qualifier will win a shirt, hat and free admission into the Championship, which will take place at our San Marcos location the following week.  Places 3rd-8th at each qualifier will earn an invite to come and play in the championship for a $10 entry fee.

Each Qualifier starts at 11 am.

Championship

The Championship will take place at our San Marcos location.  The 1st and 2nd place finishers from each qualifier earn free entry into the championship.  3rd through 8th place from each qualifier can participate for only a $10 entry fee.

** NOTE **

Each store has their own qualifier but the championship is only held at the San Marcos location.  So anyone who qualifies and decides to play in the championship, is responsible for all the travel costs involved.

The Championship starts at 11 am.

Prizes!

The 1st and 2nd place finishers from each qualifier win a free shirt, hat and waived entry into the Championship.

The overall champion will win $100 cash, trophy, free exemption in the next tournaments championship round (No qualifier needed) and of course, bragging rights!

The 1st Runner Up (2nd place) will win $50 cash and free exemption into the qualifier of their choice.

The 2nd Runner Up (3rd Place) will receive free exemption into the qualifier of their choice.

Other General Information

Each event will last roughly 1-4 hours depending how many people come to play and how long the matches take.  If you unfortunately lose and are knocked out at an point in the event, you are free to stay and watch and/or throw for fun on open lanes (If any are available) for the duration of that event.

The Qualifier and Championship are both played in a double elimination bracket format.  To determine the seeding for each event, each player will make 25 throws and then add up the total number of points they received.  Those totals will then be used to seed you within the bracket.

Once seeded, you will play a 1 vs. 1 match with another player.  Each player will make 5 throws at the same time for points.  The player with the most points after 5 throws, wins that game in the match.  Each match is best of 3 games.  Remember, its double elimination, so if at any point you lose for the first time, you can still win that event.

Because it is a double elimination format, if the player who hasn't lost that event loses in the final match, another match is played to determine the winner of that qualifier and/or championship.

League Play

Coming Soon!

We are currently in the process of setting up a new league.  Follow us on social media, or check back to get all the information once the new league is ready for sign-ups.

Axe throwing is an individual sport played in a group setting. Therefore, forming teams is not necessary. If you had a team in mind, you, your friends and/or colleagues should each sign up individually to take part in the league on the same night of the week. You'll all get to throw together but also with and against other league members. League members are welcome to bring food or eat from our rotating food truck vendors, and of course the Brewery is off our lobby.
